Go monsters!

May 4th, 2009 · 11 Comments

So I went to see Monsters vs Aliens today at the cinema, and it was quite entertaining I might say. A bit thin on the plot but the 3D effect and the funny characters made up for it;) Me and Jace, a friend of mine went to Ringen cinema, a brand new high-tech one;) Really fun;) If you like that kind of movies you will enjoy this one.

Now it’s 10:15 pm and I’m seriously considering cleaning my romcause it’s a mess in there. I can hardly see the floor anymore, and almost all of my clothes are dirty:S I’ve become so lazy. :(

A series of unexpected events

May 2nd, 2009 · 8 Comments

So I went to Tone’s party right. By the time I got there everybody was, well lets just say under the influence of alcohol. A lot of alcohol. Picture this: A girl with a short white dress, drunk, dancing to Britney Spears in high heels, falls backwards and down on the floor, legs spreading and well you get the picture:P So anyway it was getting late and I wanted to go to a bar or something and asked everyone if they wanted to join. Vilde, Christina and Whatshername went home because they were “tired”, Even and Julie was “broke” so we left them behind at the apartment. All alone. Semi drunk. We all know what they were planning to do:P

Anyway, seven of us jumped on a taxi and drove of to town. The plan was getting even more drunk and sing some ABBA songs on a kareoke bar, but as it turns out, everybody was broke (exept for me offcourse who ended up paying forthe taxi as well) and couldn’t pay the cover! So there we were, right outside the door with nothing more than 100 bucks and a silly doorman away from having a great time, yet three more people went home (Maren, Siri and Malin, you guys are so boring!) and we ended up stuck in the middle of Karl Johan with no idea where to go. So anyway, I suggested to go to Fridays. And thats what we did. Me, Tone, her boyfriend Petter, and their friend Åsmund. I think that was his name:P It was packed. Drunk people everywhere. But it was fun. And then at 02:00am -ish, Åsmund was going home and I thought I should too, so I did.

On my way home however I ran into one of my classmates. His name is Eivind. And we both ran in to one of our former danceteacher. Anyway, long story short, we ended up having an afterparty at his place, along with some random guy who was madly obsessed about make-up. Yeah, I know! Anyway, Six hours, 2 glasses of champagne, 8 shots of tequila (all thanks to my former teachers ability of persuation), Bjørk, and one cuban cigar later I went home. Or more correctly, Eivind helped me walk home:P Because believe me, I couldn’t have done it alone. So yeah… Oh, and btw, my camera was dead too so no pics:P But I’ll see if I can get some anyway from the others. Cheers!

In over my head.

Last night I was thinking. Or better yet, seeing what I am becoming.

I feel full. Beyond full. In fact, like a cup under a running faucet. If the water would just stop It would be ok, but the water seems to have an agenda of It’s own. And then It came to me. Like I had already known, and I had already forgotten. Don’t be the cup.

“Sometimes we must get hurt in order to grow. We must fail in order to know. Sometimes our visions clear only after our eyes are washed away with tears.”

I guess what I’m trying to say is what Alanis so brilliantly says in her lyrics; “Life has a funny way sneaking up on you” There’s just no way anybody could be 100% prepared for whats to come. One day everything is as it’s suppose to be, and the next it’s chaos. And the funny part is, falling is so much easier and effortless than coming back up. Lets say that gravity is lies, temptations you can’t afford etc. We all fall into things like these. The only difference is the distance and the choices we make while we’re on our way down. There are usually many parashoots you can grab on your way down to ease your landing, or even planes you can jump on who will fly you right back up again. Aka many chances to make the right choice. And while you’re in the air it actually feels kinda nice, allthough you know it’s wrong. But the longer it feels good, the longer you fall and thus harder you hit the ground. And unless you have an elevator to help you, the only way up is to take the staires. One step at a time. And believe me, your knees will hurt after a while! But then again, there are chances to make the right choices up the staires too. It’s just a matter of making them. Cause deep down we know which choices are the right ones. We just have to force ourselves to think even harder.

And for the record. Being on the very top is quite overated. I don’t think anybody can hang on there for too long. It’s too windy:P As long as you’re not under the ground you’ll be fine;) After all, when your down there, the only way to go is up!

Mr. photographer, I think I’m ready for my close up

March 5th, 2009 · 3 Comments

From the left: Me, Eivind and Sif ;)

Today was a rather fun day actually, despite the fact that it started of with a ballet class:P My absence from class bit me in the ass today, that’s for sure! I was totally retarded. Jumping around when I was supposed to do pirrouettes, and pretending to know the barr sequence at the beginning, but so obviously didn’t. It was a rather embarassing experience I tell you:S But I knew it would be like that, so I just tried the best I could and hoped for the best. Anyway, the next class we got our former modern teacher back! (Yay!) It was a very fun class. Not too hard, cause she had been sick and couldn’t move as much as she wanted to. Afterwards it was lunchbreak where I spent most of the time hanging in the office of one of our teachers trying to find a pianosheet for a song on the computer. ( I have an audition at friday you see, and I need to have two songs ready. One english and one norwegian, and I need notes to give to the pianist. HELP! :S) And after that I went to an empty danceroom to practice my routine for the auditions while I was waiting for Eivind. He is on the classical dance group for the coming show we are gonna have in may, and it was a class just for them. I’m not in that dance. (Thank god! :P)

When Eivind was done we went to get our tan on^^ There we met Sif (aka freckle face! :P) We then went to Peppes Pizza to eat. We were starving, and as Eivind would have said; “Seriously, If I don’t eat soon, I’ll die a little!” :P

After a couple of hours of almost 1 liter pepsi each, damn good pizza, big asses and cookiemonsters, we aventually found out that we were going shopping at Oslo City:P After having a cup of coffee and a melted chocolate shot from the infamous United Bakeries offcourse where Eivind worked;) But first Eivind needed to take some pictures of himself for his application to an audition. While he was taking his picture on this picture booth thingy, me and Sif went to this farmacy and had a little fun:P We went straight up to the lady at the counter and said that we needed some viagra for some fun! ( Still laughig hard about this couse she was dead serious at first:P ) She looked at me and Sif with the “Why the heck would you guys need a viagra for” stare for like forever! And then we asked her about other pills that might help since unfortunately viagra can’t be bought from a farmacy unless a doctor has said it’s ok. I think it was around then she found out that it was all for good fun and basically talked freely about what was the best alternative to viagra XP. For me it sounded like she and her husband allready tried most of them, haha:P

So anyway, on our way to the OC, we past by narvesen where we saw Marita just leaving from work. We put on our stealth shoes and gave her a scare as she didn’t see us coming behind her:P What can I say, we’re kids in a 19/20 year old body:P Then, after saying goodbye to Marita we went for a smoothie. Sif knows the girl working there and she gave us smoothies for a quarter of the price! <3 And then we went shopping. We went to Mique first, which is a small store with lots of small cute thingies which one can have in ones appartment. A bunch of useless things also though, but It’s a fun store^^ Then we went to H&M ( <3 <3 <3 )There we found some fun clothes and decided to have a little photoshoot:P

Yeah, I know, we look awesome;)
Then we went to Urban where I found a blue adidas bag that I really liked. First I thought; ” Well it’s Urban and it’s adidas so the price must be like at least a thousand or something, but guess what! 299! Cheap right? The best part is that it was priced wrong so it actually costed 399, but since the price tag said 299, we got it for 299;)  So I bought it. But offcourse Eivind needed to buy one as well. :P

Well I hope you enjoyed reading about my day, cause I really enjoyed living it:P -A

Way back to the right track ;)

March 2nd, 2009 · 11 Comments

So I’ve been thinking. I’ve been quite lazy lately. I used to be a very structural sort of guy with clear plans and ideas ahead of me. Every once and a while I would write down what I needed to be done, what I wanted to do, a new training program, when I was going to buy food and what to buy, wash the dishes, wash my clothes, clean my room etc. But now I just don’t think about it. And if it does come up I always say “nah, i’ll do it later” or “nah, it can wait”, and it ends up being undone. I really need to kick my self in the but and step up. This is no time to be lazy and sloppy. Sleeping time is over. Spring is just around the corner, which means a new start. Fresh air and lots of sun, which we all know means hot almost naked bodies jogging just outside your window;) It’s time to get back in shape people. Both physically and mentally. Loose all that extra you gained at christmas, and get back all the muscle you’ve lost:P, as well as fixing all the unsolved problems that has been piling up lately;) Beach season is not that far away, all though it’s hard to believe cause there’s still snow outside. It actually started snowing again this morning, can you believe it!? But anyway, it will all be gone before you know it. Suddenly it’s spring and everybody is all about fitness and tanlines;)

They ruined it!

February 26th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Ok, so I went to the opera yesterday with some friends. We were gonna watch the national ballet company doing a classical/modern interpretation of the classic lovestory Romeo and Juliette. First it started out ok. It was at school and everybody was bored and they had a really cool dance that lasted for about five or ten minutes. Really it had nothing to do with Romeo and Juliette. Just to show the audience that they were just a buch of kids in highschool I guess.. Anyway, suddenly there was a party where everybody got drunk. Then everything went so fast and in the next 15 minutes Romeos best friend dies, Romeo killes Juliettes brother, Romeo gets hit by a car and driven to a hospital while Juliette is arguing with her parents, Juliette runs away to the hospital finding Romeo lying in a hospital bed, she takes som pills, dies, Romeo wakes up, Sees Juliette lying by his side, takes off the tube thingy on his arm so theres blood everywhere and dies.
Wtf? Ok first of all we went to the opera. THE OPERA! You’d think that shows that are shown there would last a lot longer than a half an hour. And whats with the hospital thing? That was really thin. Why couldn’t they just use a gun like it was supposed to be? Romeo was lying in the hospital, which indicates that he was alive, so why would Juliette kill her self by taking some pills, which oddly enough started working in about ten seconds and she was dead by the next five or so.. And the ending is supposed to be nice and you should feel as if your heart was broken and you’d want to cry, but it was just sticky and wierd and went too fast. And when he kissed her right before he died it was more bizaré and perverse rather that beautiful. Now don’t get me wrong, the dancers are fantastic! They have the stamina and the flexibility I could only dream of having. Its just how they interpreted the story that bothers me, and the length of it all annoyed me. All in all it was facinating to see so many good dancers. You could see that all of them were trained well. Would I watch it again? Probably not. If so it would be only to watch he who played the lead role as Romeo, cause he was amazing. Btw, thank you for the ticket Maren:)

Solo!?

February 26th, 2009 · 2 Comments

So, the audition for KhiO is just around the corner and I kind of don’t know if I picked the right song for my solo. I’m about half way done, but I just can’t seem to get any more ideas. Does anyone have a song they just love and can’t live without these days? I would really like to know:D

Currently I’m using a song called “Slow me down” by Emmy Rossum. What I’m looking for is a song that I can dance a lyrical choreography/solo to. But it doesn’t have to be, you know, mellow and slow and really emo. It can as well be a fast, funky, wierd but catchy song.

Btw, the girl I’m dancing with in the picture is Tone Martine Kittelsen, a very good friend of mine. You may have seen her on last years So You Think You Can Dance Scandinavia. She was the lovely girl with all the curls;) I miss dancing with her. She’s studying dance just like me, but she’s in Bårdar. We are both attending this years KhiO audition. I hope we both make it. I miss having her in my class. -A

L8 yet again…

February 25th, 2009 · 5 Comments

Guess who managed to show up at school exactly 2 minutes late this morning. Damn sleepingpills. And once the class has started the doors are closed. Anyway, now I’m at my school sitting at the lounge while the rest of my class is having ballet, which i normally think is boring and would happily have skipped it anyways, but I could really use the training for my upcoming audition at KhiO. Besides I have skipped classes too many times allready so I can’t really afford it.

Maren asked me earlier today why she was so tired all the time, and that got me thinking that I’ve had it that way since I moved to Oslo at august last year. It started fine but got tougher very fast. Especially when I had to work at weekdays as well as weekends. I like to blame the season, though I know that wasn’t the only problem. It was a stressful time moving away from home, finding a job and a place to stay. Constantly arrguing with my parents about me choosing to dance rather than joining the army, or take a real education for that matter. One that will give you a great title and loads of money! Like what’s “real education” nowadays anyway. And all of that pluss some minor issues resulted on my minor sleepingdisorder. Or so does my doctor says. Fun huh? Anyway, he told me that it happened all the time while people are dealing through some changes in their lives. So he gave me some sleepingpills and sent me home. The problem didn’t go away though and I was getting desperate, so I spoke to one of my teachers and she suggested acupuncture. I’ve had four treatments now, and though I was very sceptical to the method at the begining, I can really feel the difference! I think ‘m gonna stay off the drugs from now on;) I don’t like the idea having to take some pills to function anyway. Makes me feel old and unhealthy:S

So anyway, it’s 10:00am and the next class is not starting until 11:00-ish. I think I’m gonna make myself some hot chocolate and read the paper or something. Or maybe I should go to an empty classroom and work on my solo?

Final written warning :S

February 25th, 2009 · No Comments

So Maren has gone to sleep now cause she is smart. It’s 01:30 am. Me on the other hand have become more and more nocturnal ever since I started working on Fridays. I mostly work as a busser at the bar at weekends nowadays. It’s exhausting and is really not an ideal work for a dancer, but I love the job;)

I managed to get a final written warning though, which is not fun at all:S You see, I was sick on valentines day and asked for the night off, and the MOD (Manager On Duty) said yes. So anyway, later that evening my roomate came home and told me that a friend we had in common was throwing a party. She was celebrating her birthday. She lived just up the street and we were both invited. So I thought: Well allright, I can visit and say hi and maybe have a couple of drinks since I allready had the night off anyway and was starting to feel a little better. So I went. But guess what! One of the other MOD’s from work was there too!  And little did I know that she was having a meeting with the other MOD the day after! Just my luck. And since it was valentines day it was a very busy shift and they really needed a busser. I guess the right thing to do was to call them as soon as I felt better asking if they needed my assistance. Or just stayed home.

Anyway, I spoke to the MOD’s at work, explaining to them that I didn’t call in sick just to go to a party and they understood. But what happened still happened and was seen as far across the line, and therefore, the final written warning:S I guess I really need to step up now or else I fear I’m going to get sacked:S
